Robert J. Coulter, 88, of Orion, IL, died Thursday, August 16, 2012 at St. Anthony's Nursing and Rehabilitation, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 2-4 Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Western Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Orion Park District.

Robert was born on December 7, 1923 in Henry County, IL, the son of Clyde and Desyl (Gorey) Coulter. He married Mary Jane Fassett on June 7, 1945 in Orion. She preceded him in death on May 1, 2007. He worked as a carpenter for various contractors including Twin States in Orion, retiring in the 1980's. Robert was a member of Orion United Methodist Church, President of Mississippi Valley Coon Hunter's Association for many years, and the Masonic Lodge of Orion. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking, carpentry and gardening.
